NEDA Walk 2016
We were a proud sponsor of this year’s Twin Cities National Eating Disorder Association (NEDA) Save A Life Walk last Saturday. Dr. Norling walked with her team, made up of friends, family, and co-workers. Thanks to everyone who helped support the cause!
“More than 10 million Americans currently are affected by serious eating disorders such as anorexia, bulimia and binge eating, according to the National Eating Disorders Association. While anyone can suffer from an eating disorder, they are most common in teenagers and young adult women. In addition to having a negative impact on an individual’s health and quality of life, eating disorders also affect self-image, relationships with families and friends, and performance in school or at work.
Dentists are frequently the first health professionals to observe signs and symptoms of eating disorders, as changes in the mouth are often the first physical signs of an eating disorder. A dentist can observe the damaging effects on the surfaces of the teeth of patients with eating disorders and help patients take steps to get help.”
